Packers QB Rodgers limited; offensive line getting healthy

Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was limited in practice Thursday because of a foot sprain, but the team got some good news regarding two of its offensive lineman.

Head coach Mike McCarthy said previously that the team would be careful with its quarterback in practice, and that stance did not change Thursday.

"There's certain things that bother (Rodgers' injury), and we're just being smart through Wednesday and Thursday," McCarthy said. "(Friday's) practice is obviously different than the way we practiced these last two days. It's very similar to where he was last week."

In other injury news for the team, offensive tackle Mark Tauscher appears ready to make his return after missing the team's first six games with a knee injury. Tauscher started 13 games at tackle last season.

"(Tauscher's first practice) went well. I thought he did OK," McCarthy said. "I haven't seen the film yet, but it looked like he's moving around well out there. I think he's close to ready to go."

Starting left tackle Chad Clifton could also play after missing three of the last four games. He has been a limited participant in practice all week.

Linebacker Clay Matthews was a full participant in practice Thursday after being limited in Wednesday's session, and cornerback Charles Woodson was limited for the second straight day.
