Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - The Indianapolis Colts announced Wednesday that kicker Adam Vinatieri is expected to miss four-to-eight weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to remove a piece of cartilage.
The club signed veteran kicker Matt Stover to replace Vinatieri, who is 6- for-8 in field goal attempts this season.
Stover, 41, had spent his entire 18-year career with the Cleveland/Baltimore organization.
Indianapolis also waived defensive tackle Ed Johnson.
