Analysis: It was somewhat surprising that the Jaguars selected a tackle after ponying up free agent bucks for Tra Thomas earlier this offseason, but getting Monroe at No. 8 represented good value for Jacksonville. Whether Monroe or Thomas starts at left tackle this year remains to be seen, and how Britton fits in with those two in the fold is anyone's guess. The Jags' two third- round picks, Knighton and Cox, were big-time reaches who probably could have been had in the later rounds. Thomas is a tiny speedster who will have to vie for punt return duties and Dillard, Jennings, and Underwood offer more skill- position projects.

Bottom Line: Taking tackles with their first two picks was overkill, and the Jags failed to find any skill players or linebackers who can help immediately.
