Landover, MD (Sports Network) - Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook suffered a concussion during the first quarter of Monday's 27-17 victory against the Washington Redskins.
Westbrook rushed the ball for five yards to the Washington 45 midway through the quarter. As he went to the ground, the knee of Redskins linebacker London Fletcher connected with Westbrook's helmet.
The two-time Pro Bowl running back remained on his back for a few minutes, while being attended to by medical staff. Meanwhile, his brother, Redskins cornerback Byron Westbrook, was on the field looking after his sibling.
Including his 13 yards rushing Monday, Brian Westbrook has 197 yards on the ground this season. He has already missed a game this season due to an ankle sprain he suffered in a Week 2 loss against the Saints.
