49ers place Pashos on IR

Sports Network | October 27, 2009

Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - The San Francisco 49ers put offensive lineman Tony Pashos on injured reserve Tuesday after he suffered a fractured scapula in Sunday's loss to the Texans.

The 29-year-old Pashos made his first start at right tackle in place of Adam Snyder on Sunday. Snyder and Pashos had been sharing the right tackle duties prior to Sunday's defeat.

Snyder, who moved inside to share right guard responsibilities with Chilo Rachal, will likely move back to right tackle with Pashos being lost for the season.

Pashos, who was in his seventh NFL season, signed with the 49ers on September 7 after being cut by Jacksonville, where he played in 2007-08. The 6-foot-6, 326-pound Illinois product spent his first four years in the league with the Ravens.

Also on Tuesday, San Francisco released linebacker Marques Harris and promoted linebacker Diyral Briggs to the active roster.
