Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reinstated guard Arron Sears to the active roster after an extended absence from the team to tend to a private matter.
Sears left the team during the offseason and had been on the reserve/did not report list since before training camp. The team has a two-week exemption period where Sears can practice and attend all team functions before counting against the 53-man roster.
"We welcome Arron back to the team,' said Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik. "Throughout this process we have remained in close contact with Arron and his agent, and this is a good opportunity for him to integrate himself back into our football team."
Taken 35th overall in the 2007 NFL Draft, the 25-year-old played and started in all but one game for Tampa Bay at left guard over the course of his first two seasons.
