Zorn to remain Redskins coach for remainder of season

Ashburn, VA (Sports Network) - Jim Zorn will be the Washington Redskins head coach for the rest of the season, team executive vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato reaffirmed on Friday.
Cerrato made the announcement during his weekly radio show.
Zorn has been under intense scrutiny as the Redskins have stumbled out of the gate, posting a disappointing 2-4 record despite a soft schedule. Washington played a winless opponent six consecutive weeks, including the Detroit Lions, who snapped their dubious 19-game losing streak against the Redskins on September 27.
The club's inept offense has been a source of frustration, averaging a meager 13 points per game.
Following last Sunday's lackluster 14-6 loss to Kansas City, Zorn relinquished the playcalling duties. Sherm Lewis, who came out of retirement just two weeks ago to join the Redskins as an offensive consultant, will now call the plays.
Washington hosts NFC East rival Philadelphia (3-2) on Monday night.
