Betts likely to miss season with knee injury; Portis still out

Ashburn, VA (Sports Network) - Washington Redskins running back Ladell Betts will likely miss the remainder of the season due to a left knee injury, head coach Jim Zorn said during Monday's press conference.
Betts, starting his second straight game in place of Clinton Portis, who was inactive because of a concussion, was hurt in Sunday's loss at Dallas when tackled by Cowboys linebacker Bradie James on Washington's second drive of the game.
"I don't expect to have him back," Zorn said of Betts, who sustained damage to the MCL and ACL.
Zorn has also ruled Portis out for next week's clash with Philadelphia, meaning Rock Cartwright could have a larger role in the offense. He proved to be a serviceable replacement on Sunday, leading the Redskins in rushing and receiving with 67 yards on 13 carries and seven catches for 73 yards.
It was also announced Monday that guard Chad Rinehart will be placed on injured reserve with a fractured fibula.
