Denver Broncos

8 - 8

LastEvent

It seems like a lifetime ago the Denver Broncos have seen success, and the Mike Shanahan years have almost passed from memory as many fans are trying to put the Josh McDaniel’s years in the past as well. But with the arrival of veteran coach John Fox and the legendary John Elway now working in the front office, Broncos fans are looking for a new beginning. While little has been revealed on Fox’s plan for the Broncos, with the 2011 draft behind us, things are a bit clearer now. The Denver Broncos are looking to be reborn, younger, faster, and with a greater sense of vision.

With the heavily offensive focused draft of 2010, and the defense laden draft of 2011, the Denver Broncos have infused youth and skill across the depth chart. Second year offensive players like Tim Tebow, Demaryius Thomas, and Zane Beadles are all looking to step up their game and get more playing time in 2011, and rookies Von Miller, Rahim Moore, Nate Irving and Quinton Carter are expected to begin the overhaul of a defense that is aged past its prime. With talented youth on both sides of the ball, Denver just needs time for these players to grow and develop into the stars many fans hope them to be. After the struggles the 2010 Broncos experienced, many fans are looking for hope where ever they can, and for most, that hope comes from these young players, the future of the team.

There are many questions remaining for the Broncos, however. With a number of key players coming back from injury, the transition from the 3-4 to the 4-3 defense, and questions still surrounding some key positions, the Broncos coaching staff has its work cut out for them as they try and get the Broncos back on track to win. John Fox has turned teams around before, taking a Carolina Panthers team that went 1-15 in 2001 to 7-9 in 2002 to the Super Bowl in 2003. Denver fans hope that Fox can replicate those results here, since it has been over a decade since the Broncos have been to the Super Bowl.

2011 is a year of hope for the Denver Broncos and their fans, hope has come and gone so often in recent memory, this year, fans need hope that won’t fade away, they need hope that their time has come again.
