With the No. 20 pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, the Philadelphia Flyers have selected Scott Laughton, a center playing for the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League.
A native of Oakville, Ontario, Laughton has shown steady development in the 2011-12 season and proven that he has a love for the game. An effective player who has shown that he excels in the cerebral elements of the game, Laughton has proven that he will do anything it takes to help his team win.
Willing to take hits, block shots or playing shut-down minutes against top competition, Laughton is a versatile player with tremendous upside.
A strong skater with a low center of gravity, it is difficult to knock him off the puck, Laughton is known for playing larger than his six-foot, 178-pound frame.
