Drew Doughty has a history of concussions, and that's a serious concern as he left Saturday's game in Philadelphia after a big hit from Flyers pest Zac Rinaldo.
Zac Rinaldo of the Flyers came across the middle near the blue line and caught Doughty with a relatively clean hit to the body. No penalty was called on the play, but a two minute charging penalty (as Rinaldo left his feet) could have been.
Doughty immediately went to the locker room and hasn't returned to action. The team announced that he won't returnafter suffering an upper-body injury.
The Kings' defenseman, who just signed a massive contract with the club after a long holdout this offseason, has a history of concussions. There's no word on if that's what's holding him out of the game, but that's the big concern.
