Milan Lucic apparently gave Ryan Miller a concussion, and on Monday, he'll face a disciplinary hearing for doing so.
Milan Lucic of the Boston Bruins will face a Monday disciplinary hearing for his hit on Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller. The incident took place in the first period of Saturday's game between the two clubs at TD Garden.
Miller was furious with Lucic for the hit, sticking around late after the game and seeking out reporters to comment on it. It went as you'd expect.
"Fifty pounds on me and he runs me like that? It's unbelievable," said Miller. "Everyone in this city sees him as a big, tough, solid player. I respected him for how hard he played. That was gutless. Gutless."
Lucic responded by simply saying he was going at full speed and couldn't hold up. The two teams play again on November 23, but considering Miller is reportedly concussed, who knows if he'll have a chance to respond to Lucic in person. Lucic will almost certainly have to answer to Miller's teammates, however, and there's a chance he'll have to answer to the league in this Monday hearing.
