Atlantic Division rivals Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils meet up for the second time this season and the first time at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The Flyers won the first meeting 3-0, as Claude Giroux, Matt Read and Wayne Simmonds put pucks behind Martin Brodeur and Ilya Bryzgalov made 20 saves to shut out the Devils in the home-opener.
Brodeur struggled in his return from a shoulder, allowing five goals on 23 shots in a 5-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on last night. Brodeur will have the night off, with Johan Hedberg expected to be in net for the Devils (4-5-1, 9 points).
The Flyers (7-4-1, 15 points) have bounced back from last Thursday night's 9-8 loss to the Winnipeg Jets, winning games against the Carolina Hurricances on Saturday night and hanging on for a 3-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres last night. Bryzgalov has stopped 53 of 56 shots during the Flyers' two-game winning streak and is expected to be back in net tonight against New Jersey.
