I've always wondered about the sanity of NHL referees jumping in to stop a fight. While they usually wait until matters calm down and the combatants tire themselves out, there's always the chance an unsuspecting ref gets drilled.
Like on Thursday night, when a linesman got rocked by a punch from from Cal Clutterbuck.* At the time, Clutterbuck was engaged with Max LaPierre and it appears he didn't feel the fight was quite over.
