Daniel Paille will undergo surgery on Wednesday afternoon in Boston, less than 48 hours after taking a puck to the face in a nasty incident on Monday night in the Bruins' game against the New York Islanders. Team general manager Peter Chiarelli issued a statement on Tuesday night.
"Daniel Paille has been diagnosed with a broken nose and facial lacerations after the injury he sustained in our game Monday night. He will undergo surgery on Wednesday, November 9 at Mass General Hospital in Boston to repair the injury. Dr. Thomas Dodson will conduct the procedure. Following the surgery, he is expected to be listed as day-to-day."
Given the horrifying injury, the fact that Paille is expected to be listed as just day-to-day following his surgery is fantastic news. He's lucky the injuries weren't much worse, given the violence of the scene on Monday night.
