PHILADELPHIA -- It's a beautiful day for hockey here at Citizens Bank Park today, partly cloudy and 45 degrees, but unfortunately, there will be no hockey played today on the ice down on the field. But that's okay, because as it's shaping up, the next three days are going to be just as beautiful.
For the Winter Classic Alumni Game on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET time, the forecast is just going to be perfect. Via weather.com:
Maybe a little warm for hockey, actually, but Dan Craig's refrigeration truck can handle those temperatures just fine, and if the fans are comfortable in their seats, it'll make the overall atmosphere much more enjoyable as Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers legends suit up and take the ice.
For the Winter Classic itself on Monday at 1 p.m, it's looking similarly beautiful.
... and colder. 42 degrees, partly cloudy, maybe a little bit windy but generally pretty nice. That whole rain thing we were worrying about early in the week doesn't seem to be much of an issue anymore, does it?
