Florida Panthers Trade Radek Dvorak To Atlanta Thrashers, Get Nicklas Bergfors, Patrick Rissmiller

After four years in Florida, Radek Dvorak is on the move on trade deadline day.

The Florida Panthers sent the veteran forward to the Atlanta Thrashers for forwards Niclas Bergfors and Patrick Rissmiller. The Thrashers get a fifth-round pick in addition to a player that has seven goals and 21 points for the Panthers, which was good for ninth and tenth on the Panthers respectively.

None of those points have come on the powerplay, but Dvorak does have a shorthanded goal on the season. He's an effective penalty killer that will help Atlanta's struggling unit.

The Panthers are getting two younger players to bolster part of their rebuild this year. Bergfors has 11 goals and 29 points for the Thrashers, good for seventh and eighth on the team. Bergfors has two full seasons under his belt and was part of the Ilya Kovalchuk deal with the New Jersey Devils

Rissmiller has only played one game for the Thrashers, although he scored a goal in that game, but has played 49 games between the Lake Erie Monsters and the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. He combined for 12 goals and 31 points in the minors.
