If the Nashville Predators are going to advance past the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time in franchise history, it's going to take a win against an Anaheim Ducks team that doesn't want its season to end just yet. In Game 6 of their Western Conference Quarterfinals series, the Predators and Ducks are tied, 1-1, after the first period.
The Ducks took the lead on a Teemu Selanne goal midway through the first period; it was his sixth of the playoffs, which leads the NHL.
But Nashville answered back just before the end of the period on a Jordin Tootoo goal, his first of the playoffs. And the Predators held the shot advantage in the first period at Bridgestone Arena, firing 10 shots to Anaheim's four.
