Lightning Vs. Capitals, Game 2 Score: Dwayne Roloson Keeping Washington Off Board; Bolts Up, 1-0

Stay connected with SB Nation

Vincent Lecavalier has the lone goal so far for the Tampa Bay Lightning, and a big reason why they're up 1-0 over the Washington Capitals midway through Game 2 has been the special teams play. Lecavalier's goal came on the power play, a unit that's been key in the Bolts game all season long.

On the flip side of the token, the Lightning have used their fantastic penalty kill to shut down five Capitals power play opportunities. When you're going to the box that often, it's usually not a good sign, but with Washington unable to cash in with the extra man, it's been nothing more than a minor, two-minute-long inconvenience.

Dwayne Roloson has been spectacular yet again for the Lightning. His 20 saves are another big reason why the Bolts hold the edge. The Capitals offense has not been able to get much going in terms of sustained pressure and second chance oppotunities, mostly thanks to Roloson's phenomenal play. They're trying, though.
