We've seen college basketball on an aircraft carrier, and it was pretty amazing. Seriously, check out the photos from the 2011 Carrier Classic and try not to be amazed. And while that was a fun event to take in, this one may be even cooler.
Can I interest you in college hockey on an aircraft carrier? Because Michigan State seems to want this to happen.
Athletic director Mark Hollis mentioned today that he has been approached about the possibility. He made a brief appearance at Munn Ice Arena before hockey coach Tom Anastos held an informal session with reporters. Hollis then traveled to Indianapolis to attend the NCAA convention and did not return calls seeking more details.
Just imagine it for a second. Michigan State. Michigan. Aircraft carrier. Hockey rink. There's no way this doesn't sound enticing. Watching college players skate around on the deck of a massive ship would be a sight to behold.
Make this happen, world.
