VIDEO: Claude Giroux's Sister Gets Engaged On Winter Classic Ice

Claude Giroux's sister Isabelle got engaged on New Year's Day, and it came in one of the coolest places one could imagine: On the ice, outdoors, at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The proposal came during the annual family skate on Winter Classic practice day, when families of the players get their chance to spin around on the rink.

Without some encouragement from the Flyers star, however, new brother-in-law Eric might not have gone through with it.

He called me, Eric, and he's like, 'I'm gonna propose to your sister. When should I do it?' I'm like, 'Just do it on the ice.' And he was skating around for a half hour, he was all nervous, like, 'I don't know how to do it."

And I'm like, 'Grow some balls, just do it.'"
