Four Ottawa Senators placed among the top six vote receivers for the NHL All-Star Game. Defenseman Erik Karlsson received the most votes.

With the 2012 NHL All-Star game taking place in Ottawa, it was expected that the roster would feature a few more members of the hometown Ottawa Senators than it would feature if the game was being played anywhere else. The team and their fans engaged in a massive all-star voting push and they were incredibly successful, putting four of their players among the top six vote-receiving players.

The leading vote-receiver among all players was Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson. The other Senators that finished in the top six were Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek. Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas and Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Dion Phaneuf round out the top six.

The all-star fantasy draft will be held on January 26 to determine who will play on the two teams. There will be 36 more all-stars who are added to the rosters, in addition to the six all-stars who have already been named.
