Friday will be a busy day in college hockey with 19 games on the schedule.
College hockey season is underway, and Friday will be a busy day with 19 games on the schedule and a number of top teams in action.
Minnesota, the No. 2 team in the USCHO.com poll, will play their first of two games against No. 16 Michigan State. With No. 1 Boston College not in action on Friday, Minnesota will be the highest-ranked team playing. The Gophers will host Michigan State.
No. 3 Michigan will also take to the ice Friday when they face the Rochester Institute of Technology. Both teams are coming off big wins in their exhibition openers: RIT knocked off Ottawa, 8-3, while the Wolverines defeated Windsor, 7-3. Several other top-10 teams will be in action Friday, including No. 6 Massachusetts-Lowell, No. 8 Miami (Ohio), No. 9 Western Michigan and No. 10 Union.
No. 20 Maine, who fell five spots in the poll after losing their season opener to No. 18 Quinnipiac, will face another top-20 team on Friday when they host No. 14 Notre Dame. A few of Friday's notable games can be found below.
