David Maxwell

Friday will be a busy day in AHL action as 28 of the 30 teams will be in action.

The second weekend of the AHL schedule begins Friday and it will be busy as 28 of the 30 teams will be in action. With so many teams on the ice Friday, a number of notable NHL players playing in the AHL will take center stage.

The Oklahoma City Barons are among the teams loaded with NHL talent. The Barons' roster includes Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, two young stars from the Edmonton Oilers. Eberle led the Oilers in goals and assists last season while Nugent-Hopkins was third. The Barons will face San Antonio on Friday.

Washington Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby, playing for the Hershey Bears, will also be in action Friday. The Bears will face Binghamton on Friday as Holtby looks to rebound from his first game of the year where he allowed four goals. Other NHL players in action Friday include New Jersey's Adam Larsson and Adam Henrique playing for the Albany Devils and Philadelphia's Sean Couturier who is playing with the Adirondack Phantoms.

Friday's complete schedule can be found on the AHL official website.
