2012 AHL standings: Charlotte Checkers on top in Western Conference

The Checkers are 6-1 and lead the Western Conference.

The Charlotte Checkers are 6-1 and rank at the top of the Western Conference AHL standings.

The Checkers are the only 6-1 team in the AHL. In the Eastern Conference, Springfield, Manchester and Norfolk are tied at the top with 5-1 records.

Zach Boychuk and Justin Faulk are leading the way for Charlotte. Each have nine points. Boychuck has five goals and four assists, while Faulk has one goal and eight assists.

Faulk played 66 games for the Carolina Hurricanes last season. He tallied eight goals and 14 assists with a plus/minus of -16.

Jonathan Audy-Marchessault has seven points for the East-leading Falcons. He has two goals and five assists.

Cam Atkinson and Ryan Johansen each have six points for Springfield. Atkinson tallied 14 points in 27 games with Columbus last season, while Johansen notched nine goals and 12 assists in 67 games last year.

Brandon Kozun has eight points for the Monarchs this season, tallying two goals and six assists. Slava Voynov, who played 54 games with the Kings last season, has four points on two goals and two assists this season.
