Ladd is the second locked-out Canadian-born player to join the Russia-based league since the announcement of the NHL lockout, as fellow Jets forward Evander Kane made his debut with Dinamo Minsk earlier this week.
The 26-year-old, who signed a five-year, $22 million contract with the Jets in July of 2011, had 28 goals and 22 assists in his first season with the club. Drafted in 2004 by the Carolina Hurricanes, the winger is a two-time Stanley Cup winner, one with the Hurricanes in 2006 and a second in 2010 as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks.
