Anze Kopitar is playing for Mora IK with his brother while the NHL Lockout keeps him away from the Los Angeles Kings.
With the NHL locking out its players for now and the foreseeable future, many of the athletes have fled to other leagues around the world, including Sweden, to continue honing their crafts and earning a paycheck.
Some of the more famous names in the Swedish leagues include Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings, along with Matt Duchene and Gabriel Landeskog of the Colorado Avalanche.
Kopitar is now with Mora IK in the Allsvenskan while Landeskog joined with Djurgarden. Duchene is in the Elitserien, playing for Frolunda.
Thus far, Kopitar has paid off nicely for Mora IK with eight points in just six games, including a pair of goals. The Avalanche forwards are yet to record stats for their lockout-haven clubs.
