Conference leaders in action Friday night.

The Rockford IceHogs face the Chicago Wolves in an intrastate matchup of Midwest Division leaders in the premier game from Friday's AHL schedule. The Wolves are 6-3-0-0 on the young season, two points ahead of the IceHogs, but Rockford has won four straight games.

In the Eastern Conference, the league's hottest team, the Manchester Monarchs, travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to face the last-place Penguins. Manchester has recorded 10 points from six games and won three straight contests. The St. John's IceCaps and Portland Pirates, both chasing Manchester in the Atlantic Division, play in Portland. Northeast Division leader Springfield hosts Hershey, while East Division frontrunner Norfolk hosts the Binghamton Senators.

In the West, Lake Erie, winners of their last two games, travels to Milwaukee to take on the 3-4-0-0 Admirals. South Divsion contenders Oklahoma City and Houston face off, and the Rochester Americans travel to Hamilton, Ontario to play the last-place Bulldogs.
