The annual Karjala Tournament kicks off this week.
The Swedish Hockey League will be on a weeklong break starting Tuesday for the annual Karjala Tournament.
The last game before the break is Monday, when Asploven HC plays Tingsryds AIF at Polarica Arena. Tingsryds stands at 11th in the league, while Asploven is second-to-last in the No. 13 spot.
The Karjala Tournament is an annual event held in Finland. The tournament started in 1996 and is part of the Euro Hockey Tour. Teams from the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden participate in the tournament.

Finland vs. Sweden
Russia has been the favorite in recent years. Russia has won five of the last six Karjala Tournaments. The only year Russia did not win was 2010, which saw Finland come out on top.
