Having already secured a berth to the next round, Canada and Russia will be playing for a bye to the semifinals.
Canada and Russia face off in another high-profile World Junior Championship game, this time with both teams already having secured a berth in the next round.
Canada opened the tournament with easy wins over Germany and Slovakia while still not appearing at full strength as a team. The Canadians then won a close and hard-fought game over the USA on Sunday, winning 2-1 thanks to a big performance by Malcolm Subban in net.
They'll be facing a Russian team that narrowly won two one-goal games against the USA and Slovakia before dominating Germany in a 7-0 victory. Led by Nail Yakupov's four points, Russia has used superb team scoring to prevail in the tournament, with six players with at least three points in the three games.
The winner of the game earns a bye until the semi finals, while the loser must play in the Group B quarterfinals. The quarterfinal game will be against the winner of Monday's contest between Slovakia and the USA.
Puck drops at 9 a.m. ET with live coverage on NHL Network, with a replay airing at 5:30 p.m. ET.
