Joel Rechlicz wasn't with the Washington Capitals when Rene Bourque, then of the Calgary Flames, caught star center Nicklas Backstrom in the head with an elbow on January 3. Bourque was traded to the Montreal Canadiens last month, and Rechlicz wasn't a member of the Caps when Matt Hendricks made Bourque pay for the hit.
But ah, Joel Rechlicz is on the team now, and he doesn't care if Bourque has paid the price for the hit. The Caps play the Canadiens on Saturday, and Rechlisz has plans.
Joel Rechlicz on Rene Bourque: "I heard it was a cheap shot. Hopefully, I'll be in the lineup [Saturday]."

He wasn't done talking, either.
"If I've got to run a guy through the glass and force them to fight, that's what you've got to do."
Yeah, that might not go over so well. Rechlicz had 184 penalty minutes in 27 games (that's more than six minutes per game, by the way) with the Hershey Bears of the AHL before being signed by the Caps and called up earlier in the week. He's yet to fight with Washington, but uh, it appears as though that might change.
It'll be interesting to see how the Canadiens counter if Rechlicz is indeed in Dale Hunter's lineup on Saturday.
