Alex Ovechkin missed Wednesday's game due to a lower body injury, but the Washington Capitals star is expected to return for Friday night's game against the Montreal Canadiens. He skated a bit at practice on Friday before making the decision to play in Friday night's contest.
Ovechkin told the media that was he was "ready to go" following Friday's practice, according to SB Nation DC.
"We just try a couple days ago skating and I don't feel well," Ovechkin said. "Last night, I don't feel. Today, I feel normal."
Just to be certain that nothing was lost in translation, Dale Hunter confirmed that Ovechkin will be in the lineup against the Canadiens.

Ovechkin missed Wednesday's game and Thursday's practice -- though he did skate for about 15 minutes prior, according to reports -- after suffering an apparent injury on Monday.
