On Thursday, Joel Rechlicz of the Washington Capitals said he hoped he'd be in the lineup on Saturday when his team faced off against the Calgary Flames. He wanted to exact some revenge on Rene Bourque for elbowing Nicklas Backstrom earlier in the season, even though Bourque already answered the call for that hit.
On Friday, this happened:
Joel Rechlicz wasn't even around long enough to get a Washington Capitals equipment bag. Two games, 4:16 of ice time and on Friday the muscle-bound enforcer was placed on waivers with the intention of sending him back to the Hershey Bears.
