It comes like clockwork each year. Sometimes it's sooner on the calendar than it was this time, but nevertheless, it always happens. It's Leafs Elimination Day.
That image comes via Jeff Quigley on Facebook, and predictably, he's an Ottawa Senators fan. Sens fans are reveling more than usual in the Leafs' annual defeat this year, particularly because their team is the lone Canadian wolf set to qualify for the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
As Senators blog Silver Seven points out, it's the seventh straight season the Leafs have been on the outside looking in on the postseason. The Senators, meanwhile, have only missed the playoffs six times in their modern history, dating back to 1992.
