We're not sure how the St. Louis Blues bench broke at Scottrade Center during the first period of Game 2 against the San Jose Sharks, but it did break, and the arena crew had to call in a backup to replace it.
The game was delayed for several minutes as the team stood up, stepped out onto the ice and waited for a replacement bench to be brought out from the bowels of the arena. They huddled around staring at the scene like a player had just been injured, but the crew had the replacement out in no time. It was even blue. How appropriate!
