The Florida Panthers and the New Jersey Devils will meet once again on Sunday night. The Devils will try to take a 2-0 lead in the first round of the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs.
On Friday night, the Florida Panthers came up short on their home ice against the New Jersey Devils. The Panthers, who had won their first ever division title, entered the best-of-seven, first-round playoff series against the Devils as the massive underdogs despite being the higher seed. They were hoping to prove that they were no fluke and that they deserved their division title and postseason appearance. Unfortunately for the Panthers, the Devils held onto an early lead and picked up the win to go up 1-0 in the series.
In game two, the Panthers will still be desperate for respectability, while the Devils will look to pick up another win and get one step closer to advancing to the next round of the playoffs.
The second game between the two teams will take place on Sunday night. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. ET and the game will be televised nationally on NBC SportsNet (formerly Vs.).
