Daniel Alfredsson has reportedly suffered a setback in his recovery from a concussion suffered on a nasty elbow by Carl Hagelin of the New York Rangers during Game 2 of the Ottawa Senators' opening 2012 NHL Playoff series last Saturday night. The team will revisit Alfredsson's status before Wednesday's Game 3, though things at the moment look iffy for the Ottawa captain.
Bobby Butler earned over 14 minutes of ice time after joining the lineup in place of Alfredsson on Monday night. He recorded five shots on goal, and will likely continue to play even if Alfredsson is somehow healthy enough see the ice some.
Alfredsson missed Game 3, a game in which the Senators desperately needed an offensive punch. Though the team peppered Henrik Lundqvist with 39 shots on goal, they left Scotiabank Place with a 1-0 loss and down 2-1 in the series.
