The Los Angeles Kings will have an opportunity to sweep the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night. Los Angeles currently leads the best-of-seven first round playoff series, 3-0.

Heading into the last week of the 2011-12 NHL regular season, the Los Angeles Kings were battling with the San Jose Sharks and Phoenix Coyotes for the Pacific Division title and its accompanying No. 3 seed in the Western Conference playoffs. When the Coyotes grabbed the division, the Kings played their last two games of the season against the Sharks to see who would wind up as the No. 7 and No. 8 seeds in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Kings lost both games of that home-and-home to San Jose and wound up as the low seed in the postseason, meaning they would have to take on the No. 1 seeded Vancouver Canucks.

So far, things have worked out pretty well for the Kings, as they have gone up three games to none in their best-of-seven series and are now on the brink of sweeping the Canucks right out of the playoffs in the very first round. What's more, they'll have the chance to do so on home ice Wednesday night, as they host the Canucks at the Staples Center once again. Should the Kings lose, the series will move back to Vancouver.

The puck will drop at 10:00 p.m. ET and the game will be televised nationally on NBC SportsNet (formerly Vs.). The film will also be broadcast on CBC. You can listen to the radio broadcast on 1150 AM in the Los Angeles area, or on 1040 in the Vancouver area.
