The Chicago Blackhawks are hosting the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday night and are doing everything they can to stave off elimination at the hands of the underdogs. Every game in this instant-classic, tooth-and-nail series has gone into overtime, as the two teams have proven to be exceptionally evenly matched. Phoenix currently leads the best-of-seven opening-round series 3-2. The Blackhawks are attempting to force a Game 7.
Through the first period of Game 6 in Chicago, it appears as though another overtime game might just be in the cards. Entering the first intermission, the teams are locked in a scoreless 0-0 tie.
Phoenix goalie Mike Smith has been amazing thus far, as the Blackhawks have taken 16 shots on goal and Smith has saved them all. By contrast, the 'Yotes have taken just two shots on goal in the first period.
