AUDIO: Joel Ward's OT Winner, As Called By Local Capitals Radio Voice

It's always fun to drop in on the local broadcast when a big sports event happens, and one certainly did on Wednesday evening in Boston. The defending Stanley Cup champion Bruins fell in overtime of Game 7 to the Washington Capitals, and the radio call from Caps voice John Walton certainly lived up to the occasion.

It's not a knock against national broadcasters, but there's something to be said for the passion in a call like that. Not only are local voices awfully biased and purely catering to a partisan audience, they live and breathe the local team all season long. They're around the guys every day, traveling on the team plane in most cases when they hit the road. They are members of the organization, too, and the passion in the call here by Walton is as raw and real as it gets.

We're sure Caps fans will be saving this one for quite some time.
