Frozen Four 2012, Union College Vs. Ferris State: Game Time, TV Schedule And More

It may be the "under card" on the first day of the 2012 Frozen Four, but when the Union College Dutchmen and Ferris State Bulldogs take to the ice at the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Thursday afternoon, they'll certainly look like two clubs that deserve the spotlight.

No. 3 Ferris State Bulldogs vs. No. 1 Union College Dutchmen
Thursday, April 5, 4:30 p.m. ET | TV: ESPNU
Tampa Bay Times Forum, St. Petersburg, Fla.

Combined, the Dutchmen and Bulldogs have lost five games since the calendar turned to 2012. Ferris State compiled that record in the tough CCHA, winning the regular season title over such teams as Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Miami and Notre Dame. Union won both the regular season and tournament titles in ECAC Hockey and carry a seven-game win streak into the Frozen Four.

Check out a full preview of Union vs. Ferris State.

The winner of Thursday's opening game will take on the winner of the national semifinal between the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Boston College Eagles. That game faces off at 8 p.m. ET Thursday. For more on the 2012 Frozen Four, stay tuned to our StoryStream.
