Despite holding the higher seed and a division title, there's no doubt that the Florida Panthers are considered underdogs to the New Jersey Devils in Round 1 of the 2012 NHL playoffs.
It took them several attempts, but on the final day of the regular season, the Florida Panthers were able to say that they're Southeast Division champions. Even still, the perception that they backed into that title and aren't worthy of the No. 3 seed holds strong, and they'll no doubt be considered an underdog against the New Jersey Devils when the 2012 NHL playoff series between the two clubs gets underway Friday evening.
