The Nashville Predators are not joking around. They've suspended both Andrei Kostitsyn and Alexander Radulov from action in Game 3 against the Phoenix Coyotes due to a violation of team rules, according to a press release.
There are no details on what exactly the pair did to get under the skin of head coach Barry Trotz and general manger David Poile, but Poile released a statement on the reasoning. It's pretty vague, but it hinted at some sort of attitude issue.
"The Nashville Predators have a few simple rules centered around doing the right things," Poile said. "We have always operated with a team-first mentality and philosophy. Violating team rules is not fair to our team and their teammates."
The Predators host the Coyotes in a virtual must-win Game 3 at Bridgestone Arena. Radulov in particular was ripped in the media after Game 2 for his poor play, but there's no doubt that these two players are vital pieces of the Nashville roster. Sitting them down in such an important game is shocking.
