Evgeny Kuznetsov will stay in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League until at least 2014, according to reports. He was selected with the Capitals' first pick of the 2010 NHL Draft at 18 years old.

Washington Capitals former first-round draft pick Evgeny Kuznetsov will stay in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League until at least 2014, according a report from the Washington Times. Kuznetsov doesn't believe he is quite ready to make the move over to North America.

"It's tough to say. But firstly I really want to make the Olympics," Kuznetsov told Sovietsky Sport, as translated by Puck Daddy's Dmitry Chesnokov. "I think we have a very strong team and I will continue to gain more experience and progress with the team. I am not ready to go to the NHL right now."

Kuznetsov was taken with the 26th overall pick of the 2010 NHL Draft at just 18 years old, and at the time was considered one of, if not the top prospect in the world. He will be 22 before he plays for Washington if he sticks with his current timetable. The Caps have yet to comment.
