It's often said that a goalie who can stand on his head for a few months can single-handedly take his team to the Stanley Cup playoffs.
That's what's happening in the Western Conference right now, as the Los Angeles Kings are just two games away from the Stanley Cup Finals, due in large part to their guy between the pipes.
Oh yeah, and they won the series' first two games on the road and are just now getting some home cooking.
Kings goalie Jonathan Quick, who currently boasts a 1.45 goals-against-average in the 2012 NHL Playoffs, the best GAA among the four remaining teams, is coming off a Game 2 shutout where he saved all 24 shots from the Coyotes. Quick anchors a solid Kings defense that has so far limited the number of good looks for an above-average Phoenix Coyotes offense.
The Kings have won their last seven playoff games, and have all the momentum in this series as they head back on Thursday to the Staples Center with the goal of winning the West for the first time since 1993.
