They’re winning every single puck battle, they’re establishing their forecheck with force, they’re making the Rangers take extra long shifts on defense thanks to their relentless puck pursuit, and they’re letting Martin Brodeur just watch it all like any other spectator.
But Ryan McDonagh just won a one-on-one battle with Ilya Kovalchuk, the Devils forward got his stick up, and we have a Rangers power play. Despite the awful start, New York could take a 1-0 lead with just one shot on the power play.
