On Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Kings defeated the Phoenix Coyotes in overtime to clinch the Western Conference title and advance to the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup final. The Kings will now get to sit back and watch the series between the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils resolve itself before they know where they'll be heading to kick off the final hockey series of the postseason.
The Kings will be ceding home ice in the playoffs, but I don't think that matters much to Los Angeles; they are currently undefeated on the road in the playoffs ... and they haven't held home ice advantage in any series.
