New York Rangers Score To Pull Within 2 Goals Of Devils

The Rangers needed a break. They got a break.

Marek Zidlicky tried dumping the puck deep into the New York zone, but the attempt was blocked down by Ruslan Fedotenko at the blue line. Fedotenko gathered the puck, dropped it at his feet and dished it up ice to a streaking Brandon Prust, fresh off suspension. Prust took advantage of a Bryce Salvador miscue while holding off Zidlicky on the back check. He threw the puck on net and Martin Brodeur simply couldn't handle it.

Pretty? Not really. But the crowd is energized at Madison Square Garden, and just as was the case in Game 3, it looks as though the Rangers have picked up some steam thanks to a timely John Tortorella timeout. Fortunately for New Jersey, however, they've still escaped the first period with a two-goal lead. They're still in full control.
