Flyers Vs. Devils, Game 3 Score: Matt Carle Goal Ties It 2-2

Stay connected with SB Nation

Matt Carle's goal at the 4:44 mark of the second period tied the score at 2-2 in Game 3 at Prudential Center, and we head into the third period of a tied series deadlocked at that score.

The Flyers found an answer in the second period after getting outplayed for at least three straight periods going back to Game 2. It was probably the first even period of the series thus far, and the Flyers won the shot battle nine to four. That was aided in part by two power play opportunities, both of which were killed off by the Devils' penalty kill. A Brayden Schenn goalie interference minor was killed off by the Flyers in the second as well.

Philly learned it will be without defensive forward Sean Couturier for the remainder of the game. It's believed he suffered some sort of cut in the first period.
