I'm not sure many people expected the Rangers to be so challenged by the Capitals, but after a serious threat from the No. 8-seeded Senators in Round 1, New York is facing a similar challenge in Round 2 vs. No. 7-seeded Washington.
That's not stopping them from promoting Eastern Conference Finals tickets, though.
Rangers sending out an e-mail saying tickets for the Eastern Conference Finals are on sale. Might want to win 2 more. twitter.com/TedStarkey/sta…

It's one thing to sell the tickets, which most teams must do before clinching a spot in the next round simply for logistical reasons. It's another thing entirely to send out an email to likely tens of thousands of people -- if not more than that -- promoting tickets to games that are far from a reality at this point.
